Fallout from W3C 'webapps' conference
It seems that the rest of the W3C does not believe that natural extensions to HTML + CSS + Javascript + DOM + XML Events + Forms is sufficient for 'next gen' webapps.
I can't see why.
OperaSoft and the Mozilla Foundation disagree. They are forming their own loose standards organization to address this architectural path.
This reminds me of the flair-ups over RSS standards (only in a much, much broader context). I submit a good starting point for this group is too look at the principles of GMPG.
